How would you feel if your privacy was invaded online or on your phone? Do you think privacy is a basic civil liberty?

Prompt Response: If my privacy was invaded I would feel violated. I think everyone should mind their business. I feel like basics civil privacy is not a civil right but I feel like it should be because people should mind their own business.

Summary: Today we read a poem called “Refugee in America” by Langston Hughes. We talked about what the true meaning of freedom, liberty and refugee means.  We also talked about our civil rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom from unreasonable searches and seziures. We also talked about each of their limitations. For example we said a limitations of freedom of speech is threatening someone, committing crimes, hate speech and false alarms.

Reflection: Today I learned that freedom is not fully expressed within society. I learned about the different limitations of these civil rights that we talked about. It’s important to KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. Know the true meaning of freedom of speech and freedom. I can take this lesson with me throughout life.
