Describe something that you will never fully understand

 Prompt response: Something that I will never fully understand is math. I personally think it’s so dumb and that we won’t sue any of these math problems in real life. The problems are often really hard to solve too.

Summary: TODAY WAS FINAL DAY!!!!! I was truly nerves. I had been studying all day and brushing up on the past things we had been learning all year. The test was fairly easy. Some questions did puzzle me and were a little tricky. But I found out I got a 85 on it so yayyy me. 

Reflection: Today we took our final and I got to refresh my brain on symbolism, free verse, personification and a recap of the Fences book we read. It was great know.edge poured back into me to remember.

 Prompt Response: A film that portrays my culture is the Pixar movie “Soul”, this movies portrays aspects of black African American culture. This film captures the vibrancy of black culture through its depiction jazz, barbershop culture and community life in New York. Soul introduces global audiences to the richness of black culture in a way that is both respectful and celebratory.  Summary: Today was an easy class. Today our task was to present our project on cultural and their stereotypes negative and positive. As I watched everyone’s presentation I learned a lot about the dangers of a single story. I learned that you shouldn’t follow stereotypes of any kind. You should get to know the person as a whole and not based off of these stereotypes. Stereotypes can be very dangerous in the media. Describe a time when you had to speak in front of an audience. What were your fears? How did you handle them? What advice would you give to someone struggling with stage fright?

 Prompt response: A time that I had to speak in front of an audience is when I was giving a testimony at church. I was nervous shy and nervous but also determined to get my message out and what I had came upon. I handled them by swallowing my spit, putting my chest out, counting down from 5 and took a deep breathe. Some advice that I would give someone is to not look directly at the crowd, try to look at a wall straight ahead or another object straight ahead that way you won’t be nervous having to look at everybody and their facial expressions.  Summary: today in class we took notes on formal and informal language and when to use it. We practiced some practice questions to get us familiar with it and when each situation it should be used.
