 Today in class we finished reading the rest of “Two Kinds” by Amy tan. The story was still continuing its message of the mother and daughter rocky relationship. It spoke about how the mother would compare her daughter to her cousin and try to get her daughter to be better than her cousin. The mother put tons of pressure on the daughter about playing the piano. One night the daughter had to perform the piano and she did horribly, the mother was embarrassed and disappointed in her and that caused an argument to where the daughter shouted at her about her past in china where she lost all her kids by death. Their relationship became even more broken in estranged. Until on her birthday her mother gave her back her piano as a peace offering but soon later died. By the end of the story the mother had missed playing piano and missed her mother, but she was well aware of the person that she wanted to be and so she became it. Today I learned that having a good relationship with your parent is important and that parents only want the best for you, so when they push us to be someone great it’s for the best. Overall, my day was great today class was great and felt good about all my class work assignments today.

Describe something that you will never fully understand

 Prompt response: Something that I will never fully understand is math. I personally think it’s so dumb and that we won’t sue any of these math problems in real life. The problems are often really hard to solve too. Summary: TODAY WAS FINAL DAY!!!!! I was truly nerves. I had been studying all day and brushing up on the past things we had been learning all year. The test was fairly easy. Some questions did puzzle me and were a little tricky. But I found out I got a 85 on it so yayyy me.  Reflection: Today we took our final and I got to refresh my brain on symbolism, free verse, personification and a recap of the Fences book we read. It was great know.edge poured back into me to remember.

Write about a place you never wanted to leave.

 Prompt response: A place I have never wanted to leave was botanical gardens when I was younger. I felt so magical and at ease there. It was so beautiful and I begged my mom to let us stay longer. I felt as if I was one with nature.  Today in class we started to learn about Indian culture. We watched two videos about things that they do in their culture. Such as how they eat with their hands and not with forks and spoons. Also learned how they only eat with their right hand and the left hand is used for other services. Next we watched a video on how they shake their head when speaking with someone. They do it as a form of communication if they don’t feel like speaking. They acknowledge each other with it such as they say thank you with wobbling their hands and they say yes and no and many other things.
