Today we read half of “two kinds” by Amy tan. The story was about a rocky relationship between a mother and her daughter. So far this story talks about how the mother is trying everything in her power to make her daughter treat. She goes through different careers and activities, such as she wanted her to be a concert pianist so she found her a teacher and a piano to practice on everyday of the week. Another one was she wanted her daughter to be like Shirley temple so she took her daughter to go get her hair cut just like Shirley temple haircut. She was giving her ideas and things to do but she didn’t want her to be perfect or a genius she wanted he to do the best she could and succeed at it. In the mist of this, the daughter looked in the mirror one day and she saw a side of her that she liked, she began to come into the person that she longed to be. So she gave up on caring wha their mother said in order to see if there would be any change in her mom’s obsessive altitude. There slightly was until one day watching tv. I learned today that sometimes our parents do set high expectations for us such as them wanting us to be better than them. So they push us to and past our limits so that we can become great.. I felt great about today, it was a pretty smooth and chill day, I passed my French quiz test with a 100 when I seriously had doubts lol, but other than that school was great today.
