Write about a dream that felt real

 Prompt response: A dream that I had that felt real was when I was with family and I surprised my mom and bout her a house after I got my hands on a stash of cash. I nought brand new car and took us  all on vacation.

Summary: Today in class we read a couple of chapters of the Color Purple. We read about Hiw Sofia doesn’t feel sexual desires towards Mr._____ and she decides to leave Mr for a while and stay with her sister. We also learn that Sofia Beats him and she doesn’t mind him and he wants her too.

Reflection: From these chapters teaches you that if you love someone then y’all shouldn’t be beating on each other because that’s not true love. No matter how bad the argument y’all shouldn’t put your hands on each other , to just walk away from the situation until things cool off.

 Prompt Response: A film that portrays my culture is the Pixar movie “Soul”, this movies portrays aspects of black African American culture. This film captures the vibrancy of black culture through its depiction jazz, barbershop culture and community life in New York. Soul introduces global audiences to the richness of black culture in a way that is both respectful and celebratory.  Summary: Today was an easy class. Today our task was to present our project on cultural and their stereotypes negative and positive. As I watched everyone’s presentation I learned a lot about the dangers of a single story. I learned that you shouldn’t follow stereotypes of any kind. You should get to know the person as a whole and not based off of these stereotypes. Stereotypes can be very dangerous in the media. Describe a time when you had to speak in front of an audience. What were your fears? How did you handle them? What advice would you give to someone struggling with stage fright?

 Prompt response: A time that I had to speak in front of an audience is when I was giving a testimony at church. I was nervous shy and nervous but also determined to get my message out and what I had came upon. I handled them by swallowing my spit, putting my chest out, counting down from 5 and took a deep breathe. Some advice that I would give someone is to not look directly at the crowd, try to look at a wall straight ahead or another object straight ahead that way you won’t be nervous having to look at everybody and their facial expressions.  Summary: today in class we took notes on formal and informal language and when to use it. We practiced some practice questions to get us familiar with it and when each situation it should be used.
